Eastwood World's Longest Dinner Buffet

So last night was Eastwood's attempt at the World's Longest Dinner Buffet.  At P350 per person, it seemed like a pretty good deal, and a lot of tickets were sold.  Way before the scheduled event, 6000 tickets had already been sold, so Eastwood City decided to sell more tickets to a whopping total of 10,000 tickets. Note how it says "limited slots only" on the poster.

Facts:
    1.  Expected guests = 10,000 people
    2.  Outdoor seating available = 1,500 (indoor seating supposed to be for a la carte guests only)
    3.  Ordered meals by Eastwood per restaurant = 2 chafing dishes per item, good for 80 people only.

Do the math.  How can 10,000 people fit into a seating area with a 1,500 person capacity and expect to be try a little bit of everything, be fed with meals for 80 people?  How?  Tickets were sold for 2 seatings: 7 p.m., and 9 p.m.  Within the first 10 minutes of the 7:00 seating, all the food was gone and people were NOT happy campers.  They were getting mad at restaurant staff for not providing more food, not understanding that the food for the buffet had already been pre-selected and pre-bought by Eastwood and that the restaurant owners had no choice in the matter.  With people grumbling about asking for a refund, Eastwood relented and ordered a third serving of food, and finally a fourth serving, but it wasn't enough.   There were people roaming around with empty plates while there were people who got so much food but didn't finish them anyway.

It was a madhouse.   I didn't even bother going because who wants to fight with 10,000 people for parking?  So how do I know all this?  Reports from our staff and other restaurant owners.  So I guess Eastwood did manage to have the world's longest dinner buffet AND the world's most unsatisfied guests.

MORE CHINA STUFF

For the one person who keeps asking me to post more China pictures, here are the pictures of the other notable dishes we had during the trip.  One dish I was looking forward to having again this trip from the last time I went was the Golden-prized custard buns.  They looked like ordinary  buns when they arrived at our table, but one bite convinced me I had died and gone to heaven.  The buns were nice and warm and the interior was filled with a piping hot oozingly sweet egg-yolky filling that just coated my tongue with yummy perfection.

The only other thing of note was the Shanghai crabs.  We had them for dinner one night and they were so cute!  Just look at the cute widdle cwabs!  Aren't they adorable?  They taste great, too.

EVERYTHING AT STEAK Addendum

I forgot that I was going to mention something Martin did when we went to Everything At Steak.  We were talking about gravy and how everything tastes good with gravy so I go, "Yeah, what about gravy and iced tea?" and Martin goes and pours the leftover gravy into his strawberry iced tea.  Uh-huh.  Gross, right?  I couldn't believe he did it.  And when I asked what it tasted like, he said it was fine, tasted more like gravy than iced tea.  I took his word for it.
